The Syradasay field development project will receive state support

A list of investment projects planned for implementation in the Arctic zone was approved by the resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation on February 1, 2021. The list of six investment projects that will receive government support includes a project for the development of the Syradasay coal deposit in Taymyr.

Severnaya Zvezda company, which is implementing a project to develop the deposit, will be able to count on an irrevocable subsidy from the state in the amount of up to 20% of its investments. The funds can be spent on the creation of new infrastructure for industrial facilities.

The development of the Syradasay deposit involves the construction of the West Taimyr industrial cluster for the production of coal concentrates from coking coal on the Taymyr Peninsula. The cluster construction project is part of the Yenisey Siberia comprehensive investment project and will include a coal mine, a deep processing plant, a shift camp and the Yenisey offshore coal terminal.

The volume of financing for the project will amount to more than 45 billion roubles by 2024. It is planned to provide more than 6 billion rubles in tax revenues to regional and municipal budgets until 2028. The project plans to create at least 2,000 new jobs.

“Severnaya Zvezda company, systematically went through the stages of obtaining all permits. At present, the investor has received a construction permit and it is planned to start coal mining at the open pit this year”, – added Sergey Ladyzhenko, Director General of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation.

The implementation of the investment project will contribute to the modernization and development of infrastructure, which will ensure transport accessibility of Dikson village and will create a modern stronghold on the Northern Sea Route.

Recall that today in Russia there is a Federal law on state support for entrepreneurs in the Arctic . According to the adopted law, the status of a resident implies a number of tax benefits and non-tax preferences.
