The graduates of the School of Key Researchers  of Yenisey Siberia SEC proposed projects on sustainable development

The School of Key Researchers (PI School) was held at Siberian Federal University as a part of the implementation of the world-class development program of Yenisey Siberia SEC. The final stage of the School was the defenсe of projects prepared by the participants of the educational intensive training.

Thus, according to the decision of the judging panel, the 1st place was awarded to the project “Digital Platform “Low-carbon City”, prepared by the team of authors from Siberian Federal University. The scientists have proposed to launch an electronic service that analyzes various factors (social facilities accessibility, road congestion, landscaping, housing and public utilities rating) and helps understand what needs to be done to improve the situation in the neighborhood.

The second place went to a team of scientists who proposed to develop a regional model of carbon regulation. It is proposed to use neural networks to analyze the emissions of enterprises and create a transparent monitoring system.

In addition, experts also singled out an educational project: the course “Teacher competencies in the interests of sustainable development” took 3rd place according to the results of the defenсe. It is aimed at improving the qualifications of teachers and training their soft skills. Before the course, it is planned conduct diagnostic assessment of participants to build an individual learning trajectory.

The selected projects can get recommended for implementation within the framework of world-class Yenisey Siberia SEC.

It should be noted that the School of Key Researchers trained heads of scientific projects and laboratories, promising young scientists and graduate students. The training is aimed at developing competencies in the field of sustainable development and determining priorities of scientific policy. It included 2 modules: mass training and full-time immersion.

The educational program of the full-time stage included seminars, lectures and leading experts trainings, during which personal knowledge management, intellectual capitalization, development of a market strategy for the creation of an international level scientific center, and attracting laboratory funding were addressed. The participants applied the acquired knowledge and skills during development of projects in small groups.
