Yenisey Siberia CIP was presented at the meeting of the Korea-Russian Far East and Siberia Sub-committee

Korea-Russian Far East and Siberia Sub-committee holds its 14th meeting where Sergey Vereshchagin, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Region, made a presentation on the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Federal Customs Service, the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Korea, the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District and the Arctic, as well as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.

The possibilities of the Russian-Korean trade, economic and investment cooperation, prospects for cooperation in the Arctic region of the Russian Federation were discussed during the meeting. In particular, joint projects in the transport and logistics sector, energy, agriculture and fisheries, medicine and health, as well as issues of interregional interactions.

Sergey Vereshchagin, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Region, presented the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project to the Korean side and spoke about the competitive advantages of the Krasnoyarsk Region. “The Krasnoyarsk Region is one of the largest and most industrially developed regions of Russia. The region has been in the top ten for many years in terms of the main macroeconomic indicators – GRP, investments, industrial production,” noted Sergey Vereshchagin.

He also mentioned some promising projects for cooperation during the presentation: “Creation and development of special economic zone of industrial and production type” “Krasnoyarsk High-Tech Valley” and “Establishment of an international transport, logistics and production hub based in Krasnoyarsk International Airport and Cheremshanka Airport.” Sergey Vereshchagin invited Korean companies to take part in these projects as residents and invest in projects in the field of deep processing of aluminum, transport and logistics, pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, manufacturing industries.

The meeting ended with a discussion of the forthcoming 3rd ROK-Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum that will be held in Ulsan.
