OKB Group investment and production company announced its intention to start an investment project for wood waste utilization in Krasnoyarsk Region. The problem of wood waste disposal remains urgent in the Region.
As the currently operating processing companies fail to handle the produced unused wood waste volume which grows by hundreds of thousands tonnes every year, the wastes tend to accumulate. With the volume of produced and stored wood waste in mind, the project initiator considers it rational to run the waste processing and energy generating investment project in the territory of Krasnoyarsk Region.
The draft project of the energy project submitted for consideration is designed to consume 500 tonnes of wood and other combustible refuse per day. The energy unit capacity will comply with the needs of the consumers and will be finally announced after the expert evaluation of the materials available.
The energy facility is planned to be built in the territory located near the wood and other waste generation and storage sites, close to the electricity and heat consumers.
At the same time, it is intended to solve the problem of disposal of the rotting low-quality wood waste that cannot be used as fuel anymore. A line for production of biohumus, organic and mineral fertilizers and other similar substances is planned to be started.
The production area will occupy 66 hectares adjacent to the site territory of 15 ha. The new facility will require a staff of 100 people. The investment will exceed 36 billion roubles. According to the investor, the energy facility will be environmentally friendly. The atmosphere emissions will comply with all the applicable sanitary standards, rules and environmental requirements.
At the present moment OKB Group confirms that the Government of Krasnoyarsk Region expressed its interest in the project. The energy facility will contribute to the reliable and uninterrupted supply of heat and electric power to the regional consumers, utilize the wood wastes and solve the disposal problems.
The comprehensive support of the project in terms of construction site selection, energy distribution mechanisms, investment security, getting governmental support will be provided by the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation.
