The Yenisey Siberia projects will underlie the development of the Republic of Tuva

A visiting meeting with the governmental delegation and the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin was held in the Republic of Tuva.

The federal ministers’ and institutions’ visit programme encompassed tours around the major industrial enterprises, strategic sessions on the key challenges of the infrastructural, economic and social development of the Republic, the final expanded meeting presided by the Head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin. The meeting was also participated by the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Siberian Federal District Sergei Menyaylo, deputy heads of the federal ministries, administration of the Republic of Tuva, representatives of the investor companies and development institutions.

The meeting involved the discussion of the target values of the national objectives of Tuva the Republic shall achieve by the year 2024. At the present moment, growth area of the economy ad social sphere is the implementation of investment projects in the territory of the Republic. The meeting participants considered several investment initiatives of critical influence on the Republic life. They also discussed the issues and actions related to solving the questions of the transport and power generation infrastructure, that form an essential condition for the implementation of such projects.

According to the expert group members, the key project for the region development is the completion of the Kyzyl-Kuragino railway construction to connect the Republic to the railway network of the country. The project will create new opportunities for the development of the mineral extraction industry, especially the large mineral deposits. “We are perfectly aware that the Republic development is stimulated with the infrastructure-related issues and especially with the railway construction. But at all that, the problems of energy and electric grids are not less important, just like the agricultural issues and other projects”, said Maxim Oreshkin.

The Government of Russia is expected to prepare a detailed plan for the development of the railway, construction of the mining refining combine at the Elegest coal field, and the development of Vanino port in Khabarovsk region by the middle of this summer.

Director General of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation Sergei Ladyzhenko remarks that the projects of the Republic of Tuva, included into the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project, are of great significance for the socioeconomic development of the republic. “A part of the projects discussed at the meetings have been already supported by our Development Corporation. We see a great potential in these projects and the steps that need to be taken to get them launched. The federal and the local governments are undoubtedly intending to solve these issues in the nearest future”, said Sergei Ladyzhenko.
