On October 29, in Berlin, the German-Russian Economic Congress, the greatest event of the year organized by Russian Economic Council in Germany was held. The key agenda included discussion of the ways of consolidation of science, education, business and authorities to solve the bilateral cooperation development tasks. At the Congress, the representatives of the governmental authority bodies of the Russian regions, large industrial companies, scientific organization and German businesses discussed the main areas and trends of economic, scientific and academic cooperation, ways of solution of the emerging problems, and exchanged their professional opinions on the key issues of development of the bilateral cooperation in the said areas.
At the plenary session, opening the Congress, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Federative Republic of Germany Sergei Nechaev, Chairman of the Board of the Council of Russian Economy in Germany Alexei Lavrov, Governor of Krasnoyarsk Region Alexander Uss, Director General of Economic Affairs and Sustainable Development at the Federal Foreign Office Miguel Berger, representatives of the scientific and educational institutions of both countries were present.
In his speech, the Governor of Krasnoyarsk Region remarked that the successful implementation of the large investment projects stimulating the growth of infrastructure has become the foundation for the development of the region. “In the volume of investment into the core capital, our region today is the doubtless leader in the Siberian Federal District. Besides, our region holds a promising raw material base and a great potential for further investment into the production and processing of mineral resources”. The Head of the Region also remarked that the implementation of the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project in the territories of Krasnoyarsk Region, the Republic of Khakassia and the Republic of Tuva opens new opportunities for the participation of foreign companies in the industrial and infrastructural projects.
The opportunity of international participation in the projects carried out in the territory of Russia has been discussed at the presentation session titled “The Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project: New Partnership Opportunities”. Governor of Krasnoyarsk Region Alexander Uss, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Region Sergei Vereschagin and Director General of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation Sergei Ladyzhenko presented the investment potential of the largest-scale investment project of the country to the representatives of German businesses, research facilities and development institutions.
Within the framework of the Yenisey Siberia CIP, 32 investment projects of the total value exceeding 1.9 trillion roubles are planned to be delivered. Some CIP participant companies are interested in attracting foreign investors and partners, opening new international cooperation opportunities. Sergei Ladyzhenko presented information on such projects as Siberia Agroindustrial Park, International Transport, Logistics and Production Hub, Krasnoyarsk Technological Valley. These projects are designed to produce high added-value products and are interested in attracting technological and strategical partners, ready to provide their platforms for the localization of production. Access to resources, accessible import infrastructure, establishment of special tax zones are the competitive advantages of the projects, enabling the investors to count on the efficiency of their investment.
“The Yenisey Siberia CIP projects are the international cooperation development platforms. German business has accumulated a great experience in the technological production development, and we are interested in attracting foreign companies to the delivery of the investment projects in the Yenisey Siberia regions”, said Sergei Ladyzhenko.
It should be added that the Russian-German Economic Congress is carried out within the framework of Russian-German Mutual Year of Scientific and Educational Partnership opened on December 06, 2018 by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Federative Republic of Germany held under their auspices.
