The Severmetallstroy company, with the status of a resident of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF), provides services for the disposal of automobile tires, processing them into street rubber coatings. The company, located in Norilsk, became the first resident of the Russian Arctic, included in the register of legal entities engaged in the disposal of waste from the use of goods.
The Recycling Register is a database that contains information about bona fide recycling enterprises. Registration in the register gives the company an additional competitive advantage over other companies, as it confirms that the utilizer has the necessary equipment, facilities, staff of specialists and permits. Thanks to the register, Rosprirodnadzor will be able to control waste disposal and monitor the activities of commodity producers and recyclers.
General Director of SEVERMETALLSTROY LLC Valeria Tereshkova: “The inclusion in the register is evidence for our company that we are on the right track. Our goal is to show how waste can be handled consciously and correctly for the future well–being of the environment.”
According to Vladimir Gudkov, Deputy director of the KRDV Investment Project Support Department, under an agreement with KRDV, the AZRF resident invested 34.3 million rubles in the project and created 11 jobs. Tax benefits and administrative preferences help the company successfully implement the project and develop its business. Among them are preferential property and land tax rates, subsidizing 75% of insurance premiums for newly created jobs for 10 years, and others.
Currently, 30 residents are implementing their projects in the Arctic zone of the Krasnoyarsk Territory under agreements with the KRDV, and the total amount of declared investments is 3.95 billion rubles. The functions of the management company for working with residents of the Arctic zone in the Krasnoyarsk Territory are performed by the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation.
