The Severnaya Zvezda Company has completed the construction of a cargo berth at the Yenisey terminal in Taimyr

The Severnaya Zvezda Company (part of the Russian Energy Group of Companies) has completed the construction of the berthing wall of the first stage of the cargo berth at the Yenisei terminal of the Dixon seaport on the Taimyr Peninsula. Its length is 129.4 meters. Currently, the assembly and installation of a ship loading machine is continuing at the berth, which will further ensure the loading of coal onto ships. The work is being carried out within the framework of the project for the development of the Syradasai coal deposit included in the Yenisey Siberia KIP.

The construction of a new marine terminal on the shore of the Yenisey Bay of the Kara Sea is an integral part of the project for the development of the Syradasai coal deposit. The new coal terminal will include a cargo berth, a ship loading machine, coastal facilities and a connecting dam along which a conveyor line will pass. The new terminal will also be part of the infrastructure of the Northern Sea Route.

“Today we can talk about the completion of one of the stages of creating the port infrastructure, the next is the launch of a ship loading machine, assembly and installation of technological equipment are underway. We plan to load products with its help in the summer of next year. In parallel, work is being completed on the installation of foundations for a conveyor line that will ensure the transportation of coal from the terminal’s warehouse complex for loading, and work is underway on the engineering layout of coastal structures. The total area of the Yenisei seaport will be more than 20 hectares. The complex will also include warehouses for storing products with a capacity of up to 200 thousand tons with a development perspective,” said Igor Hrithikov, Acting General Director of Severnaya Zvezda LLC.

The radial-telescopic ship loading machine in the Yenisei port with a capacity of 3 thousand tons per hour will become one of the most powerful among those currently used at coal terminals in the Arctic zone of Russia. The assembly and installation of the machine is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of next year.

Recall that the project for the development of the Syradasayskoye field is being implemented by the Severnaya Zvezda company (part of the Russian Energy Group of Companies) 110 km south-east of the village of Dixon in the Taimyr Dolgan-Nenets district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The resources of the field are estimated at more than 5 billion tons. The project includes the creation of a coal mine, an offshore coal terminal, a highway, a shift camp, a power plant, an airfield and other facilities. To date, within the framework of the project, a shift settlement with a living area of more than 5.5 thousand square meters has been built, the first technological stage of the construction of a 56-kilometer highway from the seaport to the coal mine has been completed, where work continues on overburden and coal mining. New mining and transportation equipment is being purchased.
