The project of the AZRF resident contributes to the improvement of the environmental situation in Norilsk

SEVERMETALLSTROY LLC, a resident of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF), has launched the production of recycled rubber coatings in Norilsk. 88.3 million rubles are invested in the investment project under an agreement with the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (KRDV), 24 new jobs are being created.

Currently, the company provides tire recycling services for legal entities and is working with the administration of Norilsk on the issue of opening collection points for individuals. The company has launched a tire recycling line and the production of tiles and paving stones from rubber chips. In addition, the technology for making various shapes from rubber chips is being studied at the factory. According to Valeria Tereshkova, CEO of SEVERMETALLSTROY LLC, the company’s products are used by contractors in the improvement of social institutions in Norilsk, including kindergartens.

General Director of SEVERMETALLSTROY LLC Valeria Tereshkova: “There are no highways in the Norilsk industrial district that can be used to get to another region, there is no railway. Something can only be transported during the summer navigation period along the Yenisei, and it is very short. Accordingly, the cost of logistics increases significantly. That is why local production of building materials is so important. We have focused specifically on the priority mechanized recycling method in Russia, thanks to which we receive recyclable materials. Our project really improves the environmental situation, as its implementation makes it possible to eliminate the formation of unauthorized landfills from tires, reduce the negative impact on atmospheric air due to the absence of thermal and chemical processes in the technology used.”

As a resident of the Russian Arctic, SEVERMETALLSTROY LLC receives monthly reimbursement of part of the costs of paying insurance premiums. The possibilities of obtaining other support measures provided for residents of the Russian Arctic are also being worked out.

Vladimir Gudkov, Deputy Director of the Department of Support for the Implementation of Investment Projects of the KRDV: “For residents of the Russian Arctic, property and land taxes have been reset for 5 years, subsidizing 75% of the volume of insurance premiums for newly created jobs is valid for 10 years. In addition, it provides for the possibility of obtaining land and applying the procedure of a free customs zone. KRDV, together with regional organizations, accompanies the activities of residents at all stages of project implementation, provides services and provides services for a more comfortable business.”

Currently, 31 residents are implementing their projects in the Arctic zone of the Krasnoyarsk Territory under agreements with the KRDV, and the total amount of declared investments is 37.6 billion rubles. The functions of the management company for working with residents of the Arctic zone in the Krasnoyarsk Territory are performed by the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation.
