The investment volume in the Krasnoyarsk Region in the first half of 2022 has risen by 19.1%

The Ministry of Economics and Regional Development of the region summed up the preliminary results of the development of the real sectors of the economy of the region based on statistical data for the period of January 2022 to June 2022. The investment volume in the region at comparable prices amounted to 298 billion rubles that translates to a 19% increase compared to the same period of 2021.

The largest increase in the investment activity of organizations (excluding small businesses) was witnessed in metallurgical production and scientific and technical activities. In metallurgy, the increase is driven by capital expenditure increase in the production of precious metals and copper production. The investments have increased in the field of geological exploration, geophysical and geochemical work studying of mineral resources and the reproduction of the mineral resource base on Taimyr.

“Last year, the investment volume amounted to 589.1 billion rubles, says Anna Garnets, Minister of Economics and Regional Development of the Krasnoyarsk Region. The estimated potential of the investment activity is expected to exceed 600 billion rubles. 298 billion in six months is a colossal amount, and right now, global events taken into account, it also proves that businesses do not intend to reduce investments in production development, and that they’re even ready to further increase investment activity in some cases. And this, in return, is an indicator of the future economic development as a whole. After all, one ruble invested in production gives a multiplicative effect for the development of related industries, the small business sector, employment, income growth and the general welfare of residents.”
