The investment and economic potential of the Krasnoyarsk Region was presented in Uzbekistan

As part of the visit of the regional delegation to Tashkent, an international diversified business forum of cooperation between the Krasnoyarsk Region and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held. The participants of the event were presented with the investment and economic potential of the Krasnoyarsk Region.

Sergey Ladyzhenko, General Director of the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation, made a presentation. In his speech, Sergey Ladyzhenko noted that the Krasnoyarsk Territory is one of the ten regions of Russia in terms of investments in fixed assets, and also ranks ninth and is one of the ten subjects of the Russian Federation, forming more than half of the total GRP of Russian regions.

Sergey Ladyzhenko, General Director of the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation: “The Krasnoyarsk Territory undoubtedly has a high investment potential. We consider the indicator of investment activity as the main engine of socio-economic development. Thus, the volume of investments in the economy of the region in 2023 amounted to more than $ 10 billion. Statistics show steady growth, an increase of almost a quarter compared to last year.”

Partners from Uzbekistan were invited to cooperate in the framework of the implementation of the integrated investment project “Yenisei Siberia”. In particular, industrial enterprises are offered to implement projects within the framework of the Krasnoyarsk Technological Valley special economic zone, and Uzbek air carriers are offered to include a transport and logistics hub based on Krasnoyarsk and Cheremshanka airports in the logistics of their companies. The participants of the event were also told about the possibilities of trade and economic cooperation in the field of exports and imports between the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Uzbekistan. Currently, the main export items from Uzbekistan are wood and products made from it, precious metals, boilers, equipment and mechanical devices. Imports from Uzbekistan are also widely represented by the following commodity groups: precious stones, fruits and nuts, vegetables, electric machines and equipment.

Within the framework of the business forum, representatives of the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation held meetings with representatives of industry associations and companies from Uzbekistan. The partners expressed interest in the development of joint projects in the territory of the region: the creation of greenhouse complexes, the production of baby food. They also discussed the possibilities of organizing counter supplies: vegetables and fruits from Uzbekistan and lumber from the Krasnoyarsk Territory. In total, more than 50 companies took part in the meetings.

A significant result of the business forum was the signing of agreements. The Association of Furniture and Woodworking Industry of Uzbekistan MEIOS has signed agreements with three companies: Gorlesmet LLC, Segezha Group PJSC, Center of Siberia LLC. In addition, documents on cooperation and interaction were signed between the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in Tashkent; as well as between the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Ferghana Region of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
