The Government of the Republic of Khakassia held another meeting of the interinstitutional taskforce for the implementation of the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project. The agenda of the meeting included the issues of constructing the Abakan-Biysk motorway, modernization of the metallurgical facilities of the region and establishment of the Podnebesye Tourism and Recreation Facility.
Previously, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum the agreement on creation of the Abakan-Biysk transportation corridor between Altai Region, Kemerovo Oblast and the Republic of Khakassia was signed. The document implies cooperation in the spheres of construction, reconstruction and repair of the motorways connected into an integrated network. The taskforce members discussed the factors holding back the project delivery. To bring the project to the next stage, it is necessary to develop a financial model the Ministry of Transport of Khakassia is currently working on.
Moreover, the meeting participants considered the project for modernization of RUSAL SAYANAL plant. The project implies the increase of the aluminium production yielding the tax revenue effect of 1.2 billion Roubles, creating 124 new jobs.
Another important point of agenda is tourism development. Just like in other parts of the country, Khakassia feels the urge for the infrastructural projects for the domestic tourism development. One of the examples of the comprehensive approach to popularization of the natural, archaeological and ethnical wealth of Khakassia and Siberia is the Podnebesye Tourism and Recreation Cluster. It encompasses the construction of 17 tourism facilities including the base camp in Balyksa Village and the Shors ethnovillage. The meting participants thoroughly discussed the restrictions and opportunities of federal support for the project under the current governmental programmes. The result of the meeting was formulated as a proposal to prepare a project to be included into the Yenisey Siberia CIP.
