The first Russian-Chinese Investment Forum was held in Krasnoyarsk

Representatives of Chinese authorities, as well as 130 entrepreneurs of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (PRC) took part in the I Krasnoyarsk Investment Forum and EXPO “Krasnoyarsk Region and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region” – 2023.

At the opening ceremony, the forum guests were greeted by Deputy Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region Valery Semenov and Deputy Chairman of the People’s Political Consultative Council of China of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Zhang Lei. The head of the Chinese delegation noted that the forum provides opportunities for joint promotion of interregional cooperation to a new level.

“If we have mutual interests, we will be able to overcome any obstacles. I sincerely hope that we will all join forces for effective cooperation to promote economic and trade relations between our regions,” Zhang Lei said in his welcoming speech.

Valery Semenov, addressing the forum participants, stressed that the development of relations between Russia and China depends on the cooperation of the regions. “The Krasnoyarsk Region is a good example of this. Our region is ready to increase the supply of lumber, fuel pellets (pellets), wooden house kits. Being one of the main grain exporting regions to China, we see the prerequisites for its increase. We are interested in the supply of agricultural products of a high degree of processing: flour, confectionery, wild plants, meat and dairy products, animal feed, rapeseed oil. If the regions interact, we will have very good cooperation in general with China and with the whole of Eurasia. This is what we are striving for,” the deputy head of the region said.

Within the framework of the forum, Sergey Ladyzhenko, CEO of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation, presented the investment and economic potential of the Krasnoyarsk Region, the integrated investment project “Yenisey Siberia” and priority investment proposals. Representatives of the Corporation also held more than 50 negotiations with potential investors from China and assisted in organizing B2B meetings of Chinese and regional entrepreneurs: 40 negotiations were held between the companies.

Among the issues discussed by the Russian and Chinese delegates during the event were increasing mutual trade turnover, expanding cooperation in the field of timber processing, organizing the production of forest products with high added value in the Krasnoyarsk Region, implementing projects in the region with the participation of Chinese investors, as well as attracting tourists from China to the region.
