The construction of the Abakan–Biysk transport corridor was supported at the federal level

The project for the organization of the Abakan–Biysk transport corridor, included in the Yenisei Siberia CIP, was considered at a meeting of the Council for the Development of Siberia under the Chairman of the Federation Council. The meeting participants noted that the construction of the highway will accelerate the development of tourism by connecting industrial and recreational areas of the macroregion. The volume of investments in the project is 85.2 billion rubles.

Representatives of the Government of the Republic of Khakassia made a proposal to include the Abakan – Biysk highway in the list of reference roads and to take measures to join its construction to the state program “Development of the transport System.

“The creation of a transport corridor will connect Khakassia, the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Tuva with the Kemerovo Region, the Altai Territory and the Altai Republic in the shortest way, which will significantly reduce the distance between the capitals of the Siberian regions. In addition, the Abakan–Biysk highway will shorten the distance for the regions of Siberia to access Kazakhstan, China and Mongolia,” said Vladislav Mingela, Deputy Head of Khakassia.

Following the meeting, recommendations will be prepared, taking into account the suggestions made.
