Unique solution developed by participants of Yenisey Siberia SEC was presented at the Siberian Energy Forum

Unique solution developed by the participants of Yenisey Siberia world-class scientific and educational center (SEC)  – highly efficient gas cleaning equipment for CHP plants and regional power plants was presented within the framework of the XIII Siberian Energy Forum that was held in Krasnoyarsk from November 23 to 25. The presentation was delivered by the deputy director of the project office of Yenisey Siberia SEC Dmitry Popov.

“The problem of environmental pollution by industrial emissions concerns all of us,” Dmitry Popov said during the presentation. – We have come up with a universal solution — a wet-type gas cleaning unit with a paraboloid monovortex. It is small-sized, inexpensive and has high efficiency at low energy costs. It is possible to recapture CO2 with the associated production of additional solid products working with flue gases resulting from the combustion of fuel in coal-fired boilers of CHP plants and regional power plants, as well as electrodes baking ovens, with the help of our unit”

The unit is most effective with gas flows starting from 100,000 cubic meters per hour, while it is not difficult to fit into the available space. The new device does not need to undergo major overhaul every 10 years unlike electric filters that are used on powerful gas flows. Some working parts of the filter just require periodic replacement, depending on abrasive properties of captured dust. Moreover, the device does not use nozzles: water enters the device under low pressure through a large diameter pipe. In addition, the filter can selectively recapture some gases, and its cleaning parameters are comparable to those of electrofilters.

As Dmitry Popov noted, using the unit provides an effective and inexpensive way to capture fine particles, which make up the smog that envelops the cities. Unit developers are ready not only to implement ready-made filters, but also to provide filtering services.
