An exploration well with a record well yield has been drilled at the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye oilfield

The fountain inflow of oil with a maximum well yield of 603 m3 per day has been obtained by specialists of East Siberian Oil and Gas Company (part of the oil and gas producing asset of Rosneft) during drilling of an exploratory multibranch well at the Namakarskaya 2 field. The resulting initial volume of oil broke a record for the entire 15-year history of exploratory drilling at the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye field. The drilled well is characterized by a low gas-oil ratio and a water cut of 1%, as well as high productivity. The total initial recoverable reserves of AB1+B2 oil and gas condensate are estimated at 3.5 million tons.

Scientific support of drilling and testing of the exploration well was carried out by employees of the RN-Krasnoyarsk Oil Research and Design Institute.

The development of technological potential is one of the key elements of the Rosneft-2030 strategy. The Company gives priority to innovation, defining technological leadership as a key factor of competitiveness in the oil market.

When studying the Namakarskaya 2 deposit, East Siberian Oil and Gas Company’s specialists successfully applied a high-tech made-in-Russia complex of geophysical research of wells. It consists of geophysical instruments that determine the properties of the rock, and software for data interpretation. The complex made it possible to assess the porosity and permeability of rocks, determine the presence and parameters of cracks, and identify the most promising intervals in the well section. The obtained geological and geophysical information will be uploaded to the RN-KIN (system for analysis and monitoring of the field development process) corporate database for planning production drilling and administering the development of the oil and gas field.

The oil and gas samples taken from the new well will be examined in the testing laboratory of Tomsk Oil Research and Design Institute (the Company’s scientific institute), which will determine the physical and chemical properties and commodity characteristics of the oil, as well as composition of the associated gas. The results of the studies are necessary to clarify the parameters when calculating oil and gas reserves and then drawing up a project for the development and arrangement of the deposit, designing the infrastructure of the oil field, as well as for monitoring further development.

East Siberian Oil and Gas Company, a subsidiary of Rosneft, is developing the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye oil and gas condensate field in the Evenki district of Krasnoyarsk Region. Nine hydrocarbon deposits have been discovered within the Yurubchen license area. The current B1+B2 recoverable oil amounts to more than 350 million tons. The Yurubchen deposit, which is the most ready for          commercial exploitation, has been in development since 2017.

The Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye field is the oldest on the planet, the age of its rocks exceeds a billion years.
