SGK installs two new boilers with an oil-free ignition system at Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1

New boilers 15 and 16 are being installed at Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1 within the federal modernization programme. Power engineers are assembling the frames for the boilers and started installing heating surfaces.

Oil-free ignition system will make these boilers unique. The system implies ignition of the coal dust via an electrochemical reaction. Such system compared to traditional ignition reduces the impact of a thermal power plant on the environment.

Two boilers are to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2023. Efficiency of boilers will increase from 89.7% to 91%.

It is worth noting that previous boilers have served for more than 50 years. Total cost of the SGK modernization program for Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1 makes more than 15 billion rubles.

Modernization project for Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1 is included in the Yenisey Siberia CIP. It is aimed at the development of Krasnoyarsk energy capacities and comprehensive environmental modernization. Project is to be implemented by 2025.
