Seaport construction began in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Region

The construction of the seaport in Taymyr, in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Region, started as part of a coal cluster project. Roman Trotsenko, the owner of the AEON corporation announced this on Tuesday.

The coal cluster project is implemented by Severnaya Zvezda company (part of the AEON corporation) on the basis of the Syradasay coal deposit and involves the creation of a coal concentrate production from coking coal with a capacity of 5 million tons per year extendable to 10 million tons per year. The cluster will include an open-pit coal mine, a deep processing enrichment plant, a shift camp, and a seaport. The construction of the cluster is part of the Yenisey Siberia comprehensive investment project.

“Construction has already begun. There are 200 pieces of equipment, and 600 people are working there. According to our plan, the port will be launched in 24 months,” said Trotsenko. Earlier, Alexander Uss, the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region, announced that the port would be launched at the end of 2022.

Syradasay coal deposit is located 105-120 km southeast of Dikson settlement in Taymyr. The resources of the deposit are estimated at 5 billion tons.
