A representative office of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation has started its work in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey, the commercial, industrial and cultural center of the country. The representative office was established with the aim of promoting the export of products of regional producers, assisting import supplies and attracting investment in the economy of the Krasnoyarsk Region.
Valery Semenov, Deputy Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region, addressed the participants of the ceremony with a welcoming speech: “The opening of the representative office of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation is not just the creation of an office, it is more the creation of prospects. Prospects not only for the development of relations between business, but also between our peoples. Krasnoyarsk Region is the second largest constituent entity of the Russian Federation and is among the top five leaders in economic development. The basic industries of the Krasnoyarsk Region are non-ferrous metallurgy, forestry and agriculture. But we are interested in cooperation with Turkish partners in other industries, including mechanical engineering, energy and high technology.”
Sergey Ladyzhenko, General Director of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation, noted that the opening of a representative office of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation in Istanbul is an important decision that will contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation.
“Today’s opening of the representative office of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation is the result of systematic work. Last year, during the visit of the official delegation of the Krasnoyarsk Region to Istanbul, official and business meetings were held, cooperation agreements were signed and agreements were reached on the organization of the work of the representative of the Corporation in Istanbul. Already now we have outlined a number of areas in which we will develop cooperation: mutual supplies of equipment and machinery, projects in the hospitality and aluminum industries, the construction sector and the woodworking industry,” said Sergey Ladyzhenko.
Prior to the official opening, the representative office team began preparatory work: since September 2023, 48 negotiations have been held; 6 presentations of the economic and investment potential of the regions of Yenisey Siberia; the representative office team also participated in four major exhibitions.
The Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation operates in Turkey in cooperation and with the support of the Trade Representative Office of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Turkey, the Russian-Turkish Dialogue Association and the RusKom Association (the Association of Entrepreneurs of Istanbul, Russia and Neighboring Countries).
After the opening ceremony of the representative office, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation and RusKom Association. The aim of the association is to develop economic, social and cultural relations between Turkey, Russia and neighboring countries. A memorandum of cooperation was also signed between the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation and TORID (Association of Entrepreneurs of the Turkish Forestry Industry). It is assumed that the cooperation of the parties will allow the development of bilateral trade and economic relations between the Krasnoyarsk Region and Turkey.
It should be noted that the Republic of Turkey and Russia as a whole, and in particular the Krasnoyarsk Region, are connected by long-term cooperation. More than 50 companies of the Krasnoyarsk Region cooperate with the Republic of Turkey in various sectors of the economy: equipment supplies, aluminum and oil refining industries, tourism.
