New life for coal-fired thermal power plants: project of the Yenisey Siberia SEC was demonstrated at the Russian Energy Week

Dmitry Popov, Deputy Director of the project office of the Yenisey Siberia SEC, presented a new technology for gas purification of coal-fired thermal power plants at the panel session “Development of coal industry technologies under sanctions restrictions”. The event was held in Moscow within the First Scientific and Practical Conference “Territory of Energy Dialogue” of the International Forum “Russian Energy Week”. Representatives of scientific and educational organizations, technological, innovative and manufacturing companies, development institutes and authorities attended the panel discussion.

Dmitry Popov noted that currently coal-fired power plants in Russia produce only 20% of energy, while they account for 70% of harmful energy emissions. Mono–vortex gas purification machine (UMVR), developed by the Yenisey Siberia SEC, will provide for the rapid and efficient modernization of existing coal–fired thermal power plants and bring them to a completely different environmental safety level. Advantages of UMVR include small dimensions, high efficiency (from 80 to 99.9%) with low energy costs and minimal operating cost.

Participants of the panel session outlined that this development is a really promising one and can give a second life to old coal generation facilities.

Scientific and Practical Conference “Territory of Energy Dialogue” is aimed at promoting scientific and technological development of different branches of the fuel and energy complex of Russia to ensure their stable operation in the coming years and achieve technological sovereignty on the long-term basis. Russian Energy Agency of the Ministry of Energy of Russia and Roscongress organized the conference.
