Meat Processing Plant is going to be built in the Tyva Republic

On November 26, the Government of the Tyva Republic hosted a meeting on the implementation of a project to organize a meat processing plant. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Tyva Republic Valentin Yendan with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Tyva Republic, the Ministry of Economy of the Tyva Republic for the implementation of investment projects in the field of agriculture, as well as the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation representatives.

The initiator of the project became the Finland-based company Omos OY, which has experience in supplying food products to the Scandinavian markets. The head of the company Mirza Mirzayev made a proposal to organize the production of lamb meat and cattle meat products with an export orientation. The production is planned to be organized on the basis of Finnish-made modular structures and further certified for the supply of products to the European Union.

Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Tyva Republic Valentin Yendan supported the project, noting its importance, the high potential of sheep breeding in Tyva and the readiness of the Republic leadership to assist in its implementation.

During the meeting, options for the location of production facilities were considered: one of the main ones was the site of the AgroTyva agro-industrial park in Kyzyl. The construction of the agro-industrial park is carried out within the national project “Small and Medium Enterprises and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives”. The first production facilities of the agro-industrial park will be launched at the end of 2021, at the same time the project under consideration can also be launched.

Deputy Director General – Head of the Directorate for Attracting Investment Projects of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation Alexey Nikolaev presented proposals for organizing support for an investment project, and also informed the meeting about the existing infrastructure for meat processing, which can be used as part of the project. “On the part of the Corporation, we can offer the investor a mechanism for mutually beneficial cooperation and accelerate the project implementation. We also offer the investor to consider the possibility of exporting products: vegetables, wild plants, fish, which will also be produced on the territory of the Tyva agro-industrial park,” added Alexey Nikolaev.
