Russian Junior Figure Skating Championships was held in Krasnoyarsk from February 3 to February 5, 2021 in the Crystal Ice Arena. More than 5 thousand spectators attended the competitions that was hosted the first time.
A pair of figure skaters from Saint Petersburg – Alexey Khvalko and Tatyana Kuzmina – is supported by the whole family. “The Russian Championships is a serious competition, and my children and friends came to support Alexey and Tatiana. I think that the presence of loved ones on the stands helps the skaters to cope with anxiety, – says Vera Khvalko, Alexey’s mother. – We really liked the level of the competitions organization – everything is very beautiful and great! “
For some spectators, the competition became an opportunity to celebrate a family holiday in an interesting and unusual way. “We decided that birthday is a great occasion to show children how beautiful this sport is,” says Olesya Barnikova. – Perhaps after the event it will be interesting for them to do figure skating themselves. Children just cannot help but dance during the performances of athletes. We are ourselves and our children are very excited! “
Young fans came to watch the performances of experienced skaters to do figure skating try themselves in this sport. “I really like the way athletes skate,” Arina Trunova shares her emotions. – I am interested in figure skating. I would like to do it myself, but to be honest, it’s still scary: it seems that the skaters are doing the impossible! “
Devoted figure skating fans also attended the competitions in the Crystal Ice Arena. Marina Voroshilova admitted that she does not miss any competitions in this sport: “I do love figure skating! It is especially interesting to look at the athletes from different regions of our country. As a child, I myself, like, probably, any girl, dreamed of becoming a figure skater. Because ice performances are just like a fairy tale, you feel like a real princess.”
