Krasnoyarsk Region will become a platform for a pilot project on transition of regional enterprises to environmentally friendly fuel

Memorandum of Intent between Gazprom Nedra LLC and Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) was signed at 11th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (supported by Gazprom PJSC). Vsevolod Cherepanov, General Director of Gazprom Nedra LLC, and Alexander Shokhin, President of the RSPP, signed the memorandum.

Memorandum is aimed at cooperation between Gazprom Nedra LLC and RSPP in order to create regional projects for the development of energy and industry in Russian regions based on resources of small deposits and exploration sites owned by Gazprom PJSC and independent subsoil users. Projects imply an integrated approach in making joint ventures in each specific region with the participation of Gazprom Nedra LLC and engaged representatives of large businesses, including members of regional branches of the RSPP.

Krasnoyarsk Region is considered a pilot territory as there is a large number of underexplored sites or the ones that are not involved in the economic turnover. Participation of the RSPP will help to attract production and financial resources of large representatives of regional business, which will facilitate exploration and industrial development of licensed sites. This will increase the profitability of projects, create favourable conditions for the companies involved. It will help industrial sector and housing and utilities sector of the central part and south of the Krasnoyarsk Region to switch to the environmentally friendly fuel – natural gas.

“Our company, being the operator of geological exploration at the licensed sites of Gazprom PJSC, is highly competent and has all necessary resources for the implementation of the pilot project, as well as we are really experienced in participating in joint ventures. I believe that signing of the Memorandum will promote development of promising territories in Eastern Siberia,” said Vsevolod Cherepanov, General Director of Gazprom Nedra LLC.

Alexander Shokhin, President of the RSPP, noted: “Participation in the project is important for the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, since we are talking about the action test of involving small deposits being currently unused and taking advantage of these resources for industrial development.”
