Krasnoyarsk Region presented the Yenisey Siberia Project at the All-Russian Strategic Planning Forum

At the 18th All-Russian Forum “Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia: National Objectives and Effects for the Territories” held on October 28-30 in Saint Petersburg, the delegation from Krasnoyarsk Region presented the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project. The Forum was attended by the Chairman of the Auditing Chamber of the Russian Federation Alexei Kudrin, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kotyukov and other Russian public officials.

The main topics of the Forum were: governmental administration system at the new stage of development, project approach mastering, implementation of the national projects and governmental programmes. Along with the regional and municipal authorities, the representatives of Krasnoyarsk Region also shared their experience in the implementation of their own strategic planning mechanisms aligned with the national priorities. The Forum included a strategic solution session for the regions of the Arctic, Siberia and the Far East, attended by the Minister of Economy and Regional Development of Krasnoyarsk Region Egor Vasilyev, Director for International Affairs and the Head of the Moscow Office of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation Alexei Yurtaev.

Krasnoyarsk Region has a high investment potential. Today, the region applies some unique strategic planning tools for acceleration of the large companies’ investment projects, localization of the investment activity effects with the maximum benefit for the region, as well as coordination of business and politics at the federal and regional levels. The key elements of bringing the strategic solutions into practice are the initiatives of the Yenisey Siberia and Local Economy.

In the process of discussion, the participants elaborated on the specificities of the approaches developed in the region, with due regard to the current deficits found in the region. A great interest was evoked by the question of involvement of the local authorities into budget planning in the context of delivery of the municipal comprehensive development projects.
