Krasnoyarsk Region investment potential was presented at the Russian-Chinese Working Group meeting

The first meeting of the Russian-Chinese Permanent Working Group on interregional and cross-border cooperation and special economic zones was held via video conferencing. Investment potential of the Krasnoyarsk Region and the Yenisey Siberia comprehensive investment project were presented at the meeting. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and 46 subjects of the Russian Federation, as well as the representatives of different departments and provinces of the People’s Republic of China.

Trade and investment cooperation between Russia and China, as well as expanding the areas of Chinese-Russian interregional trade and economic cooperation were discussed during the meeting.

Olesya Ardasova, Deputy Minister of Economy and Regional Development of the Krasnoyarsk Region told the participants of the meeting about the competitive advantages of the Krasnoyarsk Region and presented the Yenisey Siberia CIP. During the speech, promising projects for cooperation between the Krasnoyarsk Region and Chinese businesses were presented.

Issues regarding the cooperation between two countries in the transport sector and in the field of economic zones and industrial parks were considered as well. The participants discussed the potential of the Special economic zones’ (SEZs) for implementing industrial-production projects by Chinese companies in the Russian Federation.

Recently Special Economic Zone of the industrial and production type “Krasnoyarsk High-Tech Valley” has been established in the Krasnoyarsk Region within the framework of the Yenisey Siberia CIP. In addition, the possibility of creating a SEZ on the basis of Krasnoyarsk International Airport and Cheremshanka Airport is being considered. Currently the search for potential residents, including foreign ones, is underway.
