On January 22, the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region, Alexander Uss, met with the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Vitaly Savelyev. During the meeting, significant projects to improve the road and transport infrastructure of the region were discussed.

The Governor of the region informed Vitaly Savelyev about major infrastructure projects implemented at the Krasnoyarsk International Airport. As such, the airport apron was reconstructed, new terminals were built, and the transition gallery between the terminals is in the process of construction. Alexander Uss also noted that the creation of an international transport, logistics and production hub will require a number of measures, including the construction of a 34-kilometer single-track electrified freight and passenger railway line, completion of the main taxiway to the end of the runway.

The Governor of the region emphasized that the implementation of these measures with the involvement of federal and regional budget funding will significantly increase passenger traffic, cargo and mail transportation, and improve the quality of service for airlines and passengers.

In addition, Alexander Uss told about the planned for implementation investment project to create an international transport, logistics and production hub with the status of a special economic zone (SEZ) of industrial and production type on the basis of Krasnoyarsk International Airport and Cheremshanka Airport within the framework of Yenisey Siberia CIP.

The Government of the Region has already approved an action plan to set up the SEZ in the Yemelyanovsky district, made the necessary amendments to the territorial planning documents, and is developing the required documentation to prepare an application for the creation of a SEZ. A number of major investors have already expressed their willingness to become its residents.

“We believe that these projects should be included in the basic transport network of Russia, so that we can start implementing them in the foreseeable future. I am pleased to state that we have shared an understanding with Vitaly Savelyev and we count on his support in all these areas, ” Alexander Uss concluded.
