Japanese business is interested in the investment projects in the territory of Krasnoyarsk Region

Today a presentation of the economic, investment and touristic potential of Krasnoyarsk Region was held in the capital of Japan. The delegation was led by the Governor Alexander Uss.

The Tokyo trip was held as a response to the invitation of the Japan Association for Trade with Russia and NIS (ROTOBO) made at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Krasnoyarsk delegation consisted of representatives of the official ad business circles of the region, small and medium-sized businesses, the Aluminium Association and the Business Development Agency.

During the presentation, the Japanese companies paid a special attention to the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project, including the prospects of the Krasnoyarsk Technological Valley and Siberia Agroindustrial Park.

“We are interested in further expansion of our business, scientific, research and cultural cooperation with Japan”, emphasized Alexander Uss. “We’ve got the opportunities for expanding the mutual trade, export of non-ferrous metals, forestry and timber industry products, import of mining equipment and solid household waste recycling technologies”.

The interest towards cooperation was Krasnoyarsk Region was expressed by over fifty Japanese companies, including JOGMEC Japanese National Corporation for Oil, Gas and Metals, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Ltd., BM Japan, Toshiba Corporation, Sojitz JGC, Marubeni Corporation, Argentum Bullet.

At the presentation of Krasnoyarsk Region, among the mutually beneficial areas of cooperation with Japan, the manufacture and supply of deep timber processing products was listed.

At the business meetings held after the presentation the Japanese companies expressed their interest for the supply of wild herbs from Krasnoyarsk, decorative arts, souvenirs produced by the Evenki craftsmen and other products offered by small and medium-sized businesses.

The Japanese were especially interested in cooperation in the tourism sector. They announced their intention to visit the natural sites of Krasnoyarsk, to make a trip to Yeniseisk and the geographical centre of Russia, Vivi Lake, to see the waterfalls of Putorana Plateau. The potential tourists from Japan are also interested in helicopter tours with the view of aurora borealis and Krasnoyarsk-Dudinka-Krasnoyarsk river cruises.
