Intergeo company announces pre-qualification of general contractor for construction of a mining and processing plant at Ak-Sug field

According to Interfax agency, Intergeo Management Company has announced a qualification (pre-tender) of the general contractor for the construction of a mining and processing plant at Ak-Sug porphyry copper field in Tyva. The information is available at RTS Tender trading platform.

The MPP with the production capacity of 24 million tonnes of ore is ordered by Golevskaya GRK. The Company is expected to get a construction permit in the third quarter of 2020. The ore mining is scheduled to start before 1 August 2022; the project works are supposed to complete in the first quarter of 2023. The applications can be submitted until June 11. The qualification round results will be announced on June 18.

The project documentation requires the construction of the entire plant and its infrastructure on a turnkey basis, including warehouses, a rotation camp, a boiler house, checkpoints, a mine, a tailings facility, a household and production waste polygon, motor roads, water supply and sewage networks, and an electric grid.

The contractor will be obliged to do the geotechnical investigations, prepare the technical documents, design the mine to satisfy the required stripping and recovery volumes, do the construction and assembly works, supply a part of the equipment to the site, perform the startup, test the production units and ensure commissioning of the finished facility to the supervision bodies to sign a compliance certificate.

The Ak-Sug porphyry copper field based MMP construction is a part of the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project. The Ak-Sug MMP is planned to be started in 2023; its capacity will be 500 thousand copper concentrate per year. According to JORC classification, the mineral resource of the field is assessed at 5.1 million tonnes of copper and 121 tonnes of gold.
