In 2025, a new gold extraction plant is planned to be launched in the North Yenisei region

Polyus continues to build a new gold extraction plant (ZIF-5) based on the Blagodatnoye deposit in the North Yenisei region of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The ZIF-5 construction project is included in the Yenisei Siberia Construction Project.

Work on the construction site of the new gold extraction plant is proceeding according to schedule: 90% of the foundations have already been concreted for the equipment, and 80% of the metal structures have been installed. Installation of technological equipment has also been completed at a number of construction sites, and voltage has been applied to the site. In 2025, it is planned to continue the installation of equipment, and then begin conducting comprehensive commissioning tests.

Pavel Vorsin, Managing Director of Polyus Krasnoyarsk: “For Polyus, the new factory is the key to the company’s work for years to come, and for the region, it means new jobs and tax payments to the regional budget.”

The ZIF-5 construction project provides for the construction of ore preparation buildings, thickeners and a hydrometallurgical department, as well as auxiliary facilities: the 110 kV Gurakhta substation, a mechanical repair workshop, garage repair boxes and storage facilities.

Sergey Ladyzhenko, General Director of the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation:  “The North Yenisei region is an important area for the development of the gold mining industry and one of the key investment development sites in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The resources of the new enterprise will help significantly increase gold production in the region. In addition, the implementation of such projects contributes to the development of small and medium-sized businesses, providing jobs for regional suppliers and contractors.”

The commissioning of ZIF-5 will increase the ore processing capacity at the existing Blagodatnoye deposit to 17 million tons and the volume of gold production to about 9 tons.
