Igor Sechin and Governor Alexander Uss discuss implementation of Vostok Oil project

CEO of Rosneft Oil Company Igor Sechin and Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Uss held a business meeting to discuss current issues of cooperation and implementation of the Vostok Oil project – the creation of a new world-class oil province in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The project competitive advantage is its proximity to a unique transport corridor – the Northern sea route, which opens up the opportunities for supply of raw materials from the Vostok Oil fields right along two directions – to the European and Asian markets. The implementation of the project will ensure that the task set by the President of Russia to increase cargo traffic along the Northern sea route to 80 million tons by 2024 is fulfilled.

The development of the new oil and gas province in the North of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is one of the region’s strategic priorities. The project will contribute to the social and economic development of the region, including by increasing tax deductions to the regional budget.

Following the meeting, Igor Sechin and Alexander Uss identified priority areas of cooperation in the field of further implementation of the large-scale oil and gas project Vostok Oil, measures to support the project at the regional level and the development of the social and economic potential of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
