Glavgosexpertiza approval to all Syradasay coal field facilities received by Severnaya Zvezda

The Main Department of State Expertise of Russia (Glavgosexpertiza) has drawn up a positive conclusion on the design documentation of the coal preparation plant being a part of the West Taymyr industrial cluster for the production of coal concentrates from coking coals on the Taymyr Peninsula.

Thus, for the moment, Severnaya Zvezda has already received approvals of the Main Department of State Expertise to all the Syradasay coal deposit facilities. Previously, approvals were obtained for a marine coal terminal with a capacity of four million tonnes and an open coal pit with a design capacity of five million tonnes. This year, the company is going to get a construction permit and to proceed with working on the project site.

Severnaya Zvezda also qualifies for infrastructure support by way of an irrevocable subsidy of up to 20% of its investment. As commented by the Ministry for Development of the Russian Far East, the project will be considered by the State Commission for Arctic Development, which will carry a final resolution on the support measures.

The construction of the West Taymyr industrial cluster for the production of coal concentrates from coking coal in the Taymyr Peninsula is a part of the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project. It will include an open coal pit with a capacity of five million tonnes, an advanced coal preparation plant with a capacity of five million tonnes per year, a rotation camp and the Yenisey sea terminal. The project implementation is expected to become an essential step in the social and economic development of the north of Krasnoyarsk Region.
