On 10 February, Yenisey Siberia CIP was presented to diplomatic missions of foreign states. Presentation participants included Turgunbek Doronbekov, head of Kyrgyz Republic Chancery in Russia, Krasnoyarsk, Krzysztof Swiderek, Consulate General of Poland in Irkutsk, Artyom Zakharov, acting representative of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Krasnoyarsk.
Representatives of Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation introduced major investment projects of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Tuva and Khakassia to the guests, presented main focus areas of the Corporation business, discussed the prospects of foreign business participation in Yenisey Siberia CIP and perspective investment projects.
Krzysztof Swiderek emphasized the importance of the Yenisey Siberia CIP implementation for regions and expressed readiness of the Polish business to discuss the opportunities and prospects in a more substantive way.
“I really like your region. Poland is interested in Siberia. For example, we supply Polish equipment to the Krasnoyarsk Territory; and we would like to further develop our relations” — Krzysztof Swiderek summed up and noted the good experience of Polish companies in Siberia. According to the Consul, in 2018 the volume of Polish investments for Tuva amounted to $ 67 million, and for Khakassia — $ 221 million. He hopes that the size of investments will grow in the future.
The head of Kyrgyz Republic Chancery in Russia, Krasnoyarsk, also expressed interest in cooperation. Turgunbek Doronbekov made a point about an important issue of possible staff shortage. The Corporation representatives noted that the jobs for residents of the CIP regions were in priority but the possibility to attract foreign labour had not been ruled out. Besides, there are a lot of students from neighbouring states already studying in Siberian Federal University.
The participants of the meeting came to the conclusion that both sides are ready for cooperation and foreign business participation in the Yenisey Siberia CIP. The representatives of foreign countries were invited to Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum, which will be held on 19-21 March 2020, where both parties will be able to discuss the possibilities of collaboration in more detail.
