FIS Technical Delegate Lukasz Ligocki: “Everything in the Sopka Cluster is ready for a great competition”

Recently, representatives of the International Ski Federation (FIS) paid an inspection visit to the Sopka Cluster where the FIS Junior World Champs 2021 will be held from 18 to 27 March. The delegates assessed the technical condition of the courses, their compliance with the FIS requirements, as well as the infrastructure created for the participants.

Lukasz Ligocki, the FIS Technical Delegate noted that the courses technical level in the Sopka cluster meets all FIS requirements and corresponds to the level of the World Championship: “I have been to the Sopka cluster several times and every time I am pleasantly surprised. A lot of work has been done here in preparation for the FIS Junior World Champs 2021. The Sopka Cluster is absolutely ready for the competition. We are looking forward to this great sports event ”.

During the visit, FIS representatives paid special attention to the slope style course, with various jibbing pieces installed specially for the upcoming competitions. The delegation also mentioned the prepared infrastructure, especially, heating tents for the competitors.

Let us remind you that about 600 athletes will take part in the FIS Junior World Champs 2021. Athletes will compete for 30 sets of medals in snowboard and freestyle during the competitions.

Please pay your attention to the additional security measures in Sopka Cluster for a comfortable and safe stay of spectators.  On the days of the competition, the entry of vehicles into the territory of the venue will be limited and parking along Biathlonnaya Street after the roundabout on Svobodny Prospect will be prohibited. Driving from Biathlonnaya Street to the checkpoint of Sopka Cluster as well as parking near the checkpoint will also be prohibited. Access to the parking lot located in front of the SFU building will be provided for spectators who arrive by cars (82  Svobodny Prospect, bldg. 1, large parking). Parking will be provided to spectators upon presentation of a ticket to the competition. Without presenting a ticket, the car can be left in the parking lot of Gremyachaya Griva eco-park or in the parking lot of the Siberian Federal University in front of the Institute of Oil and Gas (82 Svobodny prospect, build 6.)

Also, spectators can get to Sportcomplex Sopka bus stop by public transport or taxi (pick up and drop off on the bus stop only). People with limited mobility, arriving by an accredited social taxi, can enter Sopka Cluster for pick up and drop off.

To avoid queues, spectators should arrive in advance: checkpoints will start working one hour before the start of the event.
