A business meeting between trade counsellors representing EU Member States was held in the Delegation of the European Union to Russia, Moscow, on 19 February 2020. Presentation of Krasnoyarsk Region investment potential and Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project were a part of this meeting. The presentation was attended by representatives of 25 EU Member States responsible for development of international economic cooperation.
Dmitry Lukashevsky, Deputy Ministry of Economics and Krasnoyarsk Region Development, presented information on Krasnoyarsk Region economic and investment potential. In his speech, he mentioned that regional development was related to implementation of major investment projects that were actively supported by the government, by means of creating support infrastructure among other things. The region is rich in labour and scientific resources, has available production facilities and advantageous location in terms of logistics. Further, Dmitry Lukashevsky invited the meeting participants to visit Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum, which in 2020 will take place from 19 to 21 March and will be devoted to accomplishment of the national goals concerning the development of Russia and the grow of the investment component in the basic capital.
Director General of Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation Sergei Ladyzhenko introduced some details of the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project to the meeting participants. The participants received information about the CIP projects being implemented in the territory of the three regions that offer investment opportunities for international partners in the area of extraction and processing of mineral resources, power and agricultural industry sectors, advanced wood processing, and infrastructure development. “Due to their large scale, the Yenisey Siberia CIP projects need strategic partners. Some of the projects are open for co-investment by business and investment funds of the EU Member States, some other need equipment supplies, which may be organised by the investors provided for the equipment localisation in our regions. And we are sure ready to support initiatives to include new projects of an international business in the CIP,” said Sergei Ladyzhenko.
The meeting participants noted the significant economic potential of the Yenisey Siberia regions and expressed their readiness to cooperate and employ competencies of the European Union businesses in the area of green energy, ecology, and public-private partnership.
