The construction of the Krasnoyarsk Region northernmost bridge over the Yenisey will commence in 2020, a year earlier than initially planned. According to Konstantin Dmitrov, Minister of Transport of Krasnoyarsk Region, the region authorities will additionally allocate 100 million roubles for the project. Thus the investment in the construction of the bridge and its approach roads will total to 8.3 billion roubles (50% of the amount will be invested by Krasnoyarsk Region, 50% will be allocated from the federal budget).
The new crossing over the Yenisey River will provide conditions for the implementation of Yenisey Siberia CIP investment project – Development of the Angara-Yenisey Economic Region. The infrastructure will allow companies to develop more gold deposits, provide an opportunity for timber processing and development of reserves of a number of minerals: zinc, antimony, lead, magnesite, talc, bauxite.
Being developed in early 2010 as part of the federal program for the development of the Lower Angara economic region, in 2018 the crossing construction project was included in the comprehensive plan of the main infrastructure modernization and expansion until 2024. The two-lane bridge will ensure year-round transport accessibility of settlements and industrial facilities in the advanced development zone of the Lower Angara region, as well as significantly increase safety and reduce transport costs. As part of the construction, it is planned to create a road crossing with a length of 2028.5 m, the length of the bridge itself will be 1196.1 m. In addition, there will be a roundabout and connections to public roads, in particular to the Krasnoyarsk-Yeniseysk highway.
It is mainly preparatory work that is scheduled for 2020: preparation of sites, delivery of equipment and establishment of shift settlements. The bridge construction is to be finished in 2023.
