As part of the implementation of the project to increase the capacity of the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3, included in the Yeniseiskaya Sibir KIP, construction of the second power unit continues. After commissioning, the new equipment will increase the reserve of thermal capacity of the station by 160 gigacalories to connect new facilities on the left bank of Krasnoyarsk.
One of the differences of the new power unit will be the use of a dry ash and slag removal system on the main equipment of the boiler shop. A serious advantage of such an innovation will be an increase in boiler efficiency. Currently, the turbine shop has already completed the installation and pre-assembly of a 185 megawatt turbine unit.
Also at the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3, as part of the construction of the second power unit, the first cooling tower in the city is being erected – a water tower; its height is 88 m, and the diameter of the base is 70 m. The cooling tower is designed for cooling water in a closed water supply system. It will reduce the amount of resource used from the Yenisei by 30 thousand cubic meters. All eight tiers of the cooling tower have already been installed, in the near future specialists will begin to erect a structure of closing panels, and in the summer it is planned to apply a waterproofing layer and paint the basin of the cooling tower.
The second power unit will create additional opportunities for the development of Krasnoyarsk: these are thermal capacities for rapidly growing areas, as well as electricity generation into the general energy supply system of Siberia. In addition, it will be possible to redistribute part of the load from Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1 to CHPP-3, which is located outside the city, in order to improve the environment.
