Athletes from 19 countries applied to participate in FIS Snowboard World Cup in Snowboard Cross 2022 in Krasnoyarsk

FIS Snowboard World Cup in Snowboard Cross will be held in Krasnoyarsk, at Sopka Cluster on 7-9 January 2022. Preliminary entries were sent by more than 120 athletes from 19 countries: Australia, Austria, Andorra, Argentina, Great Britain, Germany, Georgia, Spain, Italy, Canada, China, Korea, the Netherlands, Russia, the USA, France, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Japan.

This is the first time when Krasnoyarsk will hold FIS SBX World Cup. The operator of the competitions is Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation.

The competitionstions will be held in individual races among men and women where athletes will compete for 4 sets of medals. Qualifications will be held on 7 January, and finals will be held on 8-9 January. The FIS SBX World Cup in Krasnoyarsk will be a qualifying round for the Olympic Games 2022, so the strongest snowboarders are expected to participate in the event.

The first stage of the FIS World Cup in Snowboard Cross 2021/22 started on 26 November at the Chinese Secret Garden ski resort. The upcoming Olympic season is expected to include 10 individual races and 2 mixed team events. The competition schedule is published on the official website of the International Ski Federation (FIS).
