An international checkpoint has been opened at Kyzyl Airport

An international checkpoint has opened at the Kyzyl International Airport in the Republic of Tyva. The airport’s readiness for international air transportation was assessed by Anatoly Seryshev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District, together with Vladislav Khovalyg, Head of the Republic of Tyva, with the participation of representatives of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Rosgranstroy and state control bodies.

Anatoly Seryshev noted the importance of the project: “This is a modern facility with equipment that meets the latest safety requirements. The world is changing rapidly, and now it is especially important for us to establish stable ties with the Asia-Pacific region. The geographical location of the Republic of Tyva, the cultural ties that have been formed here with its closest neighbors, will certainly become a worthy foundation for such cooperation.”

At the end of 2023, the Ministry of Transport of Russia and FGKU Rosgranstroy completed work on the technical equipment of the air cargo and passenger checkpoint across the state border of the Russian Federation at Kyzyl airport. Thanks to the implementation of the project, conditions have been created for international flights.

“With the support of the Russian Ministry of Transport, we have done a lot of work,” Vladislav Khovalyg said. – The premises are equipped for all types of control, including customs, border, phytosanitary, veterinary and sanitary quarantine when crossing the border. There are five passport control booths in the terminal building, one of them is designed for low-mobility groups of citizens. The point is designed to pass 100 passengers per hour.”

The project of giving the airport of Kyzyl the status of an international airport and the opening of an international checkpoint across the state border of the Russian Federation is included in the KIP “Yenisei Siberia”.
