As part of the business visit to Istanbul, the delegation of Krasnoyarsk Region presented the regions of the Yenisey Siberia. Representatives of the government and business of the host party learned about the economic and tourist opportunities of Krasnoyarsk Region, and also saw Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project.
Sergey Vereshchagin, deputy chairman of the regional Government, delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of Krasnoyarsk Region: “For many years, Krasnoyarsk Region has been a confident leader in Siberia in terms of the scale of attracted investments and is among the top ten Russian regions in terms of capital investments. In 2021, this figure amounted to about 8 billion US dollars, which is 14% more than a year earlier. We have created conditions for the effective work of not only large international and domestic companies, but also small and medium-sized businesses. Krasnoyarsk Region ranks 6th in terms of gross regional product and traditionally ranks among the ten subjects of the Russian Federation that form more than half of the total GRP of Russian regions. This is directly related to the implementation of Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project, which received the support of the President and was approved by the Russian government.”
As part of the presentation, Turkish business representatives were introduced to the capacities of localizing production in the Krasnoyarsk Technological Valley and the advantages of a transport and logistics hub based on Krasnoyarsk and Cheremshanka airports. The delegation also shared about the opportunities of trade and economic cooperation in the field of exports and imports between Russia and the Republic of Türkiye. The parties negotiate on the supply of grain and oilseeds to the Republic, lumber, fuel pellets and products of wild plants of regional producers, and imports of Turkish equipment and special machinery.
Following the meetings and negotiations, the parties signed 3 agreements. One of them is between Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation and the GALSIAD Association of Industrialists and Businessmen of the Aluminium Industry. According to the document, the parties will cooperate in attracting foreign investments to the regions of the Yenisey Siberia, implementing Russian-Turkish investment projects, developing exports and imports of the regions of the Yenisey Siberia, as well as promoting the brand of Yenisey Siberia abroad. Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation also signed cooperation agreements with ROST Russian-Turkish Trading House and the Uludag Industrial Zone.
The Republic of Türkiye is one of the main trading partners of Krasnoyarsk Region and is traditionally among the top 5 countries in terms of trade turnover. About 50 regional companies carry out export and import operations with the Republic.
