The Vysokoe gold mining factory in the North Yenisei district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory became the winner of the Mining Project of the Year award of the XVIII Russian Mining Forum MINEX Russia 2024. The project included in the Yeniseiskaya Sibir KIP is implemented by Sovrudnik LLC (part of PJSC YUGK).
The purpose of the project is the industrial development of the Vysokoye gold deposit, the extraction of ore by open–pit mining, its processing at a gold extraction factory directly at the deposit to obtain the final product in the form of ligature gold. The proven reserves of the Vysokoe deposit exceed 120 tons of gold or more than 30 years of production.
Since the implementation of the project, the investor has invested more than 42 billion rubles for the construction of a highway with a length of more than 100 km, two bridges, power lines, transformer substations, a shift camp and the mining and processing plant itself.
Artem Kletskin, Financial Director of PJSC YUGK: “The main merit in the successful commissioning of the facility belongs to the well-coordinated team of Sovrudnik LLC, whose forces have done tremendous work in the conditions of the far north. The launch of the GOK made it possible to provide jobs for more than 1,500 people in the North Yenisei region.”
The project is implemented in several stages. It is expected that by 2025 the project will be brought to the production capacity of the first stage of the ZIF: it is 4 million tons of ore processing and the production of 4 tons of gold. In 2026, it is planned to launch the second stage of the plant, thanks to which the production volume will increase by another 2 tons. At the same time, the mining complex will be developing all these years.
Sergey Ladyzhenko, General Director of the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation: “The development of a mining and processing plant at the Vysokoye field is one of the largest initiatives within the framework of the Yenisei Siberia Mining and Processing Complex, from the implementation of which the region receives significant economic benefits. Local suppliers and contractors were involved in the construction, and residents of the region are already working on the project. When reaching the design capacity, the new production will provide additional tax revenues to the regional budget in the amount of 4 billion rubles per year.”
Along with the implementation of investment projects in the North Yenisei district, the social infrastructure is also being modernized in cooperation with companies that operate in the district. Sovrudnik LLC has signed an agreement with the administration of the North Yenisei district on the construction of a 60-apartment building. In addition, with the support of an investor, in 2024, a new medical building began to be designed in the district center.
