A meeting of the Council of Rectors of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was held in the Congress Hall of the Siberian Federal University, where a report was presented on the main tasks and development strategy of the Yenisei Siberia Climate Research and Educational Center (REC) for the period 2025-2030.
Sergey Verkhovets, Vice-Rector for Advanced Projects at SibFU, outlined two main blocks for the further activities of the REC. The first is sectoral development and issues related to integrated development, increasing their competitiveness, efficiency and access to end products with increased and added value. The second block is devoted to the general development of the region.
According to the speaker, from 5 to 10 complex projects will be identified in the near future, each of which will be assigned to a specific organization. In particular, the Federal Research Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Siberian Federal University or other organizations.
To date, the Yenisei Siberia Scientific and Educational Center is an interregional scientific and educational center, which can prove itself in support of the development of scientific and technological development programs for other subjects of the Russian Federation. In addition to the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the REC’s area of interest includes the republics of Tyva and Khakassia.
“The regional program of scientific and technical development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory formulates certain priorities: These are space information technologies, unmanned aircraft systems, food security system, automation of production facilities, saving the health of citizens, etc. Activities of the REC “Yenisei Siberia“ unfolds in accordance with these priority areas. In the coming months, the concept of the REC program will be presented for discussion with colleagues from the republics of Khakassia and Tyva, and then at the level of the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. A list of comprehensive scientific and technical programs will be approved, which will be developed until 2030,” Sergei Verkhovets said.
Within the framework of the regional block of programs of scientific and educational centers, social support for young scientists, the development of campuses, the formation of a comprehensive system of support for scientific research and innovation, ranging from scientific foundations to business incubators, industrial parks, is expected.

The world-class scientific and educational Center (REC) “Yenisei Siberia” was established in 2019. It is an interregional association initiated by the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republics of Khakassia and Tyva. The participants of the REC include 28 scientific and educational organizations and enterprises of the real sector of the economy.
