The launch of the first phase of the Bukhta Sever port—part of the Vostok Oil project—is scheduled for September. Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin announced this during the annual shareholders’ meeting.
“Upon completing our work here in Vladivostok, I have planned a visit to the Vostok Oil project site; we will ensure the completion of the oil pipeline connection works. We expect to be able to report the commissioning of the first phase of the Bukhta Sever port in September,” Igor Sechin said.
According to him, construction of the 790-km-long oil pipeline is nearing completion.
“A high-tech, safe underwater crossing across the Yenisei River has been built, consisting of two parallel lines, each 5.7 km long,” the company head noted, adding that the pipeline is laid at a depth of approximately 50 meters, with the pipe itself buried up to 8 meters into the riverbed.
Vostok Oil is Rosneft’s flagship project located in the Taymyr region. It encompasses 52 license areas in the north of Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, containing 13 oil and gas fields—including both the Vankor group fields currently under development and new ones.
