RN-Vankor increases the volume of winter cargo shipments

The RN-Vankor company (part of the Rosneft oil and gas production complex) has launched a large-scale campaign for winter cargo delivery to the facilities of the Vankor cluster fields and the Vostok Oil project. It is planned to deliver more than 1 million tons of cargo to the bases in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, which is 20% more than a year earlier.

Delivery is carried out by water routes and winter roads. The main logistics hubs for receiving and unloading ships are four production bases in Taimyr. RN-Vankor specialists have already mastered the technology of parallel unloading onto the ice piles of the Yenisei River. Preparatory work for the construction of ice platforms is underway to ensure the approach of ships to the cargo areas.

The range of goods delivered includes metal structures, pipe products, reinforced concrete products, building materials, technological equipment, specialized machinery and vehicles. These resources are necessary for the construction and operation of oil production and transportation facilities for hydrocarbons.

For the delivery of goods by land, winter roads and ice crossings over rivers with a total length of over 2.5 thousand km were built. More than 650 specialists and about 300 pieces of equipment were involved in laying winter roads. Auto routes connect key production facilities in the Taimyr, Dolgano-Nenetsky, Turukhansky districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

Winter roads perform not only an industrial, but also a social function. They serve as an important transport artery for residents of Taimyr. Thanks to them, tundra settlements are provided with food and basic necessities, they help nomadic reindeer herders maintain their traditional way of life.

Responsible attitude to the environment is an integral part of the corporate culture and one of the key principles of RN–Vankor’s activities. All operations during the implementation of the winter navigation campaign are carried out taking into account the minimization of environmental impact, which is especially important in the conditions of the Arctic ecosystem.
