Krasnoyarsk Railway is building new passenger platforms at 7 stations located on the Mezhdurechensk – Abakan– Taishet section. The work is being carried out within the framework of the project “Increasing the throughput capacity of the Artyshta – Mezhdurechensk – Taishet section” included in the Yenisey Siberia CIP.
Passenger platforms are being built in the settlements of the Askizsky district of the Republic of Khakassia: Birkchul, Yugachi, Kazanovskaya, Uytak, Ust-Kamyshta (Skalnaya stop), Kazanovka (Yistoricheskaya stop), as well as in the village of Kordovo (Kizir station of the Kuraginsky district of Krasnoyarsk Region). Commuter routes run daily through these stations, as well as long-distance trains, which are used by up to 40 thousand people a year.
During the construction of new facilities, comfortable conditions will be created for passengers in accordance with modern standards. Railway workers will install covered canopies with built-in seats and ramps for people with limited mobility, lay tactile tiles, install an LED lighting system that turns on automatically after dark. Two-sided platforms will be equipped with ground pedestrian crossings over tracks with a flooring that prevents sliding; sidewalks will appear on the approaches.
At 4 stations with the largest passenger traffic – Birkchul, Yugachi, Kazanovskaya and Kizir – the length of the platforms will be increased from 150 to 250 meters, which will allow receiving trains with an increased number of cars.
In addition, noise screens will be installed in places where residential buildings are located close to railway tracks.
“Now the Krasnoyarsk Railway is in full swing implementing a large—scale project to increase the throughput and carrying capacity of the Artyshta — Mezhdurechensk – Taishet section. The project includes not only the construction of the second main tracks and the strengthening of the power system of this highway, laid in the 60s of the last century. Passenger infrastructure is also being updated. So, over the past four years, 14 modern boarding platforms have been erected at the stations,” said Alexander Kozhanov, Deputy head of the Krasnoyarsk Railway for the Abakan region.
Krasnoyarsk railwaymen plan to complete all work on the construction of new passenger facilities at seven stations in two regions of Siberia by the end of 2023.
