In the Krasnoyarsk Region, a new bridge over the Kanzyba River is being built on the site of the Eastern polygon Mezhdurechensk – Taishet, connecting Western and Eastern Siberia. The work is being carried out within the framework of the project “Increasing the throughput of the Artyshta – Mezhdurechensk – Taishet section” included in the KIP “Yenisey Siberia”.
The bridge with a length of 128 meters will become part of the second main track on the 557 km Siding – Koshurnikovo (Kuraginsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Region). This is one of the most difficult sections of the railway in the spurs of the Eastern Sayan, where freight trains make a steep climb. Now their passage is carried out along one path, which passes through a deep gorge. The small stretch is among the remaining “bottlenecks” of the entire direction from Mezhdurechensk to Taishet, limiting throughput and carrying capacity.
Currently, specialists have completed the first stage of the construction of the bridge over the mountain gorge: they installed supports with a height of 20 meters and started installing metal spans. There are seven of them in total, each weighing 51 tons. To lift the spans, railway workers will use a special powerful all-terrain truck crane. The next stage will be the installation of an unbalanced base in the bridge spans and the laying of the railway track. KRASZHD plans to fully build a second track on the entire stretch of the 557 km – Koshurnikovo siding by the end of 2024. As a result, its throughput will increase by 2 times.
Recall that the project “Increasing the capacity of the Artyshta – Mezhdurechensk – Taishet section” has been implemented since 2022. The project provides for the construction and development of 47 infrastructure facilities.
