A working meeting on preparation and delivery of the Russian Junior Figure Skating Championship scheduled from February 3 to 5, 2021, took place in Krasnoyarsk with participation of the Figure Skating Federation of Russia (FFKKR) representatives.
As part of the working visit, FFKKR representatives met with the Chairman of the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Region Yuri Lapshin, where they discussed the preparation for the upcoming competition. FFKKR General Director Alexander Kogan and representatives of the federation inspected Crystal Ice Arena, which will become the venue for the event, ice rinks, locker rooms, a warm-up area, stands, assessed the organization of services, considering the necessary quarantine measures in response to the threat of COVID-19 spreading.
Crystal Ice Arena is a new, modern, functional ice arena, – commented Alexander Kogan. “It is very convenient that there are two ice rinks here, as this allows both training and competitions to be held at the same venue.”
According to FFKKR General Director, Krasnoyarsk was chosen as the host city for the Russian Junior Figure Skating Championship not accidentally, since all-Russian and international competitions were hosted here at a high level, namely the Winter Universiade 2019, the Russian Figure Skating Championship, the Russian Cup stage.
“It is also of great importance that a team of professionals has already been formed in Krasnoyarsk, which has experience in organizing and holding major sports events. In addition, the choice of the venue for the event was influenced by the expressed interest in the sport on the part of the regional authorities and the willingness to work together to organize the competition,” stressed Alexander Kogan.
A total of 4 sets of medals will be competed at the Russian Junior Figure Skating Championship in single skating (M/W), pair skating and ice dance.
It will be recalled that in September 2021 Krasnoyarsk will also host the fourth stage of the 2021–22 Junior Grand Prix series.
