The opening ceremony of the 8th Young Professionals Open Regional Competition (WorldSkills Russia) of the Krasnoyarsk Region 2020, the general partner of which became the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation was held online. Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Region Alexey Podkorytov, Director General of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation Sergey Ladyzhenko, Director General of Union «Young professionals (WorldSkills Russia)” Robert Urazov, Director of the Regional Development Department of Union “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) Lyudmila Ivanyuk took part in the event.
The Competition was opened by Alexey Podkorytov: “The WorldSkills Competition is a competition in professional skills, a kind of Olympic Games for people mastering vocational professions. The Krasnoyarsk Region team demonstrates good results at national and international WorldSkills competitions. I am confident that the organizers will create all the conditions for fair and, most importantly, safe competitions.”
According to Alexey Podkorytov, in 2020, the WorldSkills regional competition will be held in 116 professional fields. The Competition will bring together 700 competitors of three age categories: young professionals (16 – 22 years old), juniors (up to 16 years old) and specialists over 50. A total of 900 leading regional and national experts will assess the competitors’ professionalism in accordance with international standards.
Sergey Ladyzhenko, Director General of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech: “This year the Development Corporation is the general partner of the WorldSkills Regional Competition. This partnership is very important for us because we support the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project and, first of all, are interested in training qualified personnel reserve. In different parts of our region and in neighboring regions, it is planned to implement major projects that will create a large number of workplaces, in particular such positions that will require highly qualified employees. The young people who participate in the WorldSkills Competition are leaders and have every chance to take these positions. By supporting the nominations, we understand that we will be ready to offer the winners of the competition employment at large-scale modern facilities.”
The Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation will support competitors in 11 professional fields: welding technologies, industrial automation, laboratory chemical analysis, teamwork in production (presentation), industrial robotics, BIM information modeling technologies, software solutions for business, corporate protection against internal threats to information security, mechatronics, maintenance of heavy equipment, labor protection. The winners in these professional fields, among other awards, will receive diplomas from the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation. In addition, the winners and prize-winners of the WorldSkills Regional Competition will be included in the personnel reserve of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation.
Also, as part of the opening ceremony of the 8th Young Professionals Open Regional Competition (WorldSkills Russia) viewers learned more about the competition itself, its participants and winners of the 2020 National Final, and also took part in various challenges.
WorldSkills Regional Competition will be held until December 6, 2020 at the venues of colleges and technical schools of the Krasnoyarsk Region. The Competition schedule will feature the business program dedicated to the modernization and vocational education in the region.
