Today, a business meeting dedicated to the investment cooperation of the Sichuan Association in Russia and the CIS countries, and the Yenisey Siberia regions has been held via video conference. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation, Zeng Aiguo, General Director of the Sichuan Association in the Russian Federation and the CIS, and staff of the Sichuan International Chamber of Commerce Representative Office in Russia.
The meeting participants from China were reported about the economic and investment potential of the Yenisey Siberia regions and the current on-going projects on this territory by Sergei Ladyzhenko, General Director of Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation.
The parties discussed possibilities for cooperation in the timber and woodworking industries. Zeng Aiguo shared the plans of the Chinese companies to create pellet production plants in Russia and showed an interest in the prospects for the construction of such enterprises in the Yenisey Siberia regions. As Sergei Ladyzhenko noted, Krasnoyarsk Region had the potential to implement projects in the field of processing sawmill waste products. “We have information about where and how much waste is concentrated. So we can offer the production sites for such needs. The corporation is ready to find a site for the construction of such a plant in compliance with the specific parameters and criteria, organize meetings for further cooperation in the timber and woodworking industries and provide comprehensive support for this investment project,” he added. Sergei Ladyzhenko emphasized that the reasonable use of natural resources remained important for the Yenisey Siberia regions, and woodland exploitation of any kind would be carried out in accordance with the Russian legislation.
According to Zeng Aiguo, some plants producing batteries of the next generation are opening in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, and such enterprises are interested in importing battery metals. The Yenisey Siberia CIP package comprises two projects on the creation of the companies producing battery metals. By 2022, it is planned to receive the first outputs that can be exported to China.
Based on the results of the meeting, an agreement was achieved on the signing a memorandum of understanding concerning cooperation, the creation of a road map and the elaboration of further consolidated steps to develop business and maintain a favourable investment climate between the two countries.
Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation is going to send the investment proposals to the Sichuan Association in Russia and the CIS countries that may provoke the Chinese business community interest. The General Director of the Association is planning to visit the Yenisey Siberia regions as soon as this autumn.
