Khakassia and Tyva customs offices were joined with Krasnoyarsk customs. This reorganisation was another step of the Russian customs optimisation and efficiency improvement.
As a result, six customs offices were joined with the Krasnoyarsk office: Abakan and Sayanogorsk offices of the Khakassia customs, Kyzyl office and Khandagayty, Tsagan-Tolgoy and Shara-Sur two-way customs car checkpoints. As of now the Krasnoyarsk customs comprise 13 checkpoints and are the biggest in the Siberian Federal District.
After the Tyva and Khakassia customs merge with the Krasnoyarsk office, the officers can perform customs clearance in international points of three types: automobile (Tsagan-Tolgoy and Shara-Sur), aircraft (Abakan and Krasnoyarsk airports) and marine (Dudinka).
“A number of projects aimed at transport infrastructure development and advanced products processing are about to be implemented in Krasnoyarsk Region, Tyva and Khakassia. By implementing these projects the Yenisey Siberia regions will gain the opportunity to integrate into the global transport routes, cross-border trade will enhance and the customs payments to the Russian budget will rise, while the merge of the customs offices will improve customs clearance procedures,” Sergei Ladyzhenko, Director General of Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation, said.
The customs provide their help to the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project by giving consultations at the projects’ preparation stage and support the implementation process in terms of the customs legislation to boost their effectiveness.
One of the previous steps of the Russian customs system optimisation was the establishment of the online customs network that is able to perform all the customs operations via the Internet. And the establishment of the Siberian online customs will accelerate the customs clearance during the implementation of the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project.
