Kraslesinvest company has posted a tender for the engineering of a pulp mill planned to be built within the timber processing facility at the Boguchany District industrial site, Krasnoyarsk Region. Tender offers are accepted till June 26; on July 6, the results will be announced. The maximum cost of the contract is 946.6 million roubles.
The contractor will be ordered to design the timber treatment facilities with warehouses and a conveyor system, pulp production line (including pulp cooking and pulp drying facilities), energy and electric power supply units, a sewage treatment plant, computer-aided production control system and utility connections.
At the first stage, the pulp mill capacity will constitute 1 tonne of bleached softwood sulphate pulp per year. The designers are assigned a task to study the possibility of craft larch pulp and fluff pulp production. At the second stage, the pulp mill capacity is expected to reach 500 thousand tonnes of bleached softwood sulphate pulp and 324 thousand tonnes of dissolving larch pulp and fluff pulp per year.
According to the contract, the construction shall be completed in 2021, and in March 2022 the facility shall be certified by the State Review Board of Russia. According to the tender materials, a specified railway and an asphalted road to the mill are planned to be built (not included into the tender).
According to Director General of the Yenisey Siberia Development Corporation Sergei Ladyzhenko, the fact of putting the design specifications and estimates of the project out to tender signifies the readiness of the investor to implement the project: “Krasnoyarsk Region is one of the Russia’s leaders in the stock of timber, and construction of deep timber processing facilities will considerably increase the forest industry output. Designed to supply a sophisticated product sought for on the global market, the new facility will also comply with the modern environmental standards,” remarked Sergei Ladyzhenko.
The project of construction of a forest industry facility and auxiliary railway infrastructure in Boguchany District of Krasnoyarsk Region is a part of the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project. The investment required for the establishment of the entire facility exceeds 130 billion roubles. The new pulp mill product is planned to be exported to the countries of East and Southeast Asia.
